First, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you who came out to Creve Coeur for our Grand Opening Carnivale! It’s because of you that this event was such a widely accepted success and we can’t wait to show you what we have planned for the upcoming months!

As the sun set on the Carnivale at Creve Coeur it seemed the Carnies sensed something odd in the air. Quick they were to pack up their tents, leaving just in time as a storm began to brew. A cackle could be heard as their train rolled out of town, and a darkness spread over the city.

The lightening and thunder crashed through the skies and once the fog began to settle, the locals saw the shadowy silhouette of the ship that had been haunting this port for centuries. The whispers became echoes, “Coeurbattant is back!” and the echoes charged with static like crackle to carry on the message.

The Creve Coeur Belle and Beau photo contest!

Creve Coeur is holding a carnival the weekend of June 6th, 7th and 8th and we’ll be crowning a Belle and a Beau. We’re not looking for the usual formal attire or cheesecake/beefcake shots. We welcome the weird, wonderful, glamorous. Think old time carnival, medicine show, cabaret, voodoo, illusionists – outrageous and beautiful as opposed to just prettypretty.

The weekend will be filled with rides, a film, fun contests, live music from two great indie acts and DJs playing cabaret music, twisted circus songs, and other fantastic strangeness.

We’ll be taking nominations for Belle and Beau candidates starting on the 1st of June and voting will begin immediately. To participate you may do the following:

1. Find the Belle and Beau Photo Contest located on the outside of the carnival
2. Pick your favorite picture that best fits the theme.
3. Pay for your box to set up your picture ( fee is 1L).
4. Put your picture inside your box.
5. Invite your friends to vote for you (1L each vote).
6. That is it.

The Gal and Guy with the most votes before 12 midnite SLT, June 5th 2009 will be crowned Saturday June 6th 2009 at 4pm SLT and they will be presented with their prize package which will include clothes and accessories from some of the shops on Creve Coeur as well as L$5,000 each.

Two runners up in each category will receive the prize package of clothes and accessories.
